PROOF, "The square of the sum of two numbers."

PROOF, "The square of the sum of two numbers."
The square of a binomial describes the square of the sum of two numbers. This can be shown visually by depicting a square. If you imagine a large square divided into four smaller rectangles, the side lengths of the large square correspond to the sum of the two numbers. The four resulting areas are made up of two smaller squares and two identical rectangles. The two smaller squares represent the squares of the individual numbers, while the rectangles represent the product of the two numbers. Adding the areas of all four parts gives the square of the sum of the two numbers. This visual proof clearly illustrates the equation by showing the relationship between the algebraic expressions and their geometric equivalents.
