LaKeith Stanfield Interview: I Love Boosters, The Wrong Girls, and More

At CinemaCon 2026, some of the industry’s brightest stars were awarded for their contributions to the screen, from James Cameron to Queen Latifah, Adam Scott, and more. While on the ground at the con, Collider had the opportunity to speak with Academy Award nominee LaKeith Stanfield, who received the Star of the Year award, to discuss everything from his favorite theaters to what’s coming up next for him.

First up on the slate is Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters, with Neon, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg for this actor. In addition to his Oscar-worthy performance in 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah, Stanfield is best known for his work in Get Out, Knives Out, FX’s hit series Atlanta, Uncut Gems, and Sorry to Bother You. Up next, fans can see Stanfield on the big screen in F.A.S.T., The Wrong Girls with Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat, Spike Lee’s Prince of Cats, and more.

In this interview, Stanfield shares what the Star of the Year Award means to him at this point in his career (“I’m just grateful, man.”), and discusses working with Riley again, and how the filmmaker has not only maintained his personal style, but also evolved it over the years.
