3 Reasons the 8th Air Forces Adopted H2X Area Radar Bombing for Most WWII Missions -Deep Dive Review

In WWII, H2X Radar was used in 51% of the targets sighted, in the European theater Radar bombing is essentially area bombing, given its lack of accuracy. H2x radar bombing accuracy under 10/10 cloud cover is 1/150th as compared target sighting under good visual condition, using the Norden bomb sight. The USAAF bombed under radar conditions, otherwise the fleet would need to be grounded 24 out of 30 days per month, due to adverse target visual conditions. Radar bombing keep the pressure on the Germans even though bomb accuracy would be abysmal. The consequences of abysmal bomb accuracy implied loss of German lives.
