Simulating Star-Formation in real time

This simulation shows the formation of multiple stars from the collapse of a tubulent molecular cloud. Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and an all pairs n-ody gravity algorithm are used for force computation. To achieve real time performance most of the calculations are done on the GPU using OpenGL compute shader.
In the video shown here 16384 particles are used. On the nvidia 950M one simulation step takes about 60 miliseconds.
This Simulation is part of Hendrik Schwanekamps Bachelor Thesis.
