Infected blood scandal 'was not an accident'

The findings of Sir Brian Langstaff official report into the infected blood scandal have been released. He confirms that the scandal "was not an accident" and there were a "catalogue of failures".

His report says infections occurred because doctors, the blood services and successive government failed to put patients safety first.

He emphasises that now is the time for proper compensation to be paid to all those who were wronged.
