Pioneering musical act, Einstürzende Neubauten, have been expanding the limits of rock, experimental, and industrial for over 40 years. But they don’t just have the respect of musicians and fans in and out of Germany because of their forward-thinking music — they’re also revered for always being at the forefront independence, which has allowed them to put creativity over everything.

We joined founder and vocalist, Blixa Bargeld, and long-time bassist, Alexander Hacke, in the studio to witness their creative process, and to talk about what independence means to the band.
