When I was younger, everyone knew me as “the figure skater.” After a severe injury at a critical point in my career, I lost not only my mobility but the identity I had built around that label. Being forced to ask who I was without it made me realize how dangerous a fixed identity can be. My idea worth sharing is this: identity is not a finished product, but an ever-changing work in progress.
