Open Workout 18.5 Live Announcement

Three years ago, Director of the CrossFit Games Dave Castro gave fans a choice for Event 5 of the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games: Heavy DT or Double DT.

For Open Workout 18.5, democracy returned. Adding to the list of firsts in the 2018 Open, Workout 18.5 came down to a vote: 11.6, 13.5 or 14.2—all previous Open workouts. More than 325,768 people cast votes on Facebook to determine the community's fate.
The final workout was announced from CrossFit Reykjavík in Reykjavík, Iceland, and when the voting closed, the stage was cleared for the battle of the Dottirs. With two Fittest on Earth titles under their belts each, Annie Thorisdottir and Katrin Davidsdottir competed against each other and 2017 Games fourth-place finisher Sara Sigmundsdottir.

After the Icelandic CrossFit queens threw down, CrossFit Games host Rory McKernan challenged Heber Cannon and Marston Sawyers, producers of "The Redeemed and the Dominant: Fittest on Earth," to hit the final workout of the Open.
