Thursday. Time to look back. Think about your decisions.

You don't have to choose.

Let this season — this school year ending — let yourself feel during the day. Choose what you're going to do about it in the evening. Who cares if the principal pissed you off again, or the morning staff meeting took up time you wanted back. Take all of the experience. Take all of the fire and all that's been taken out of you, and think about what you're going to do for yourself in this next season.

What's your next adventure? What have you sacrificed, and out of what you have made — honor that, and decide what comes new Friday.

This is a Thursday reading for the teachers who are still in it, the ones who already left, and the ones somewhere in the middle. End-of-school-year burnout has a shape. Let the day be feeling. Let the evening be choosing. Honor what was taken from the body that taught.

Friday is coming. So is the next adventure.
