$338 Costco Grocery Haul

I spent $338 at Costco—and didn’t feel guilty or stressed about it.

Why? Because I plan for it.

Every single month, I treat my Costco trips like a regular bill and set aside $100 into a Costco sinking fund.

A sinking fund is just money you intentionally save over time for a known (but not regular) expense. It’s not an emergency—it’s expected.

I know I do a big Costco haul every 3–4 months, so instead of swiping my card and figuring it out later, I show up with cash already set aside for it.

If you do bulk grocery hauls, meat stock-ups, or restock your household supplies in one big trip, I highly recommend starting a sinking fund just for that.

It turns a potentially stressful expense into something already accounted for. No surprises. No guilt. Just planned, intentional spending.

This is real-life budgeting—and it works. 🙌
