THRIFT FLIP JEANS| Acid Wash & Alteration

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, a cold put me out for a few days. This week I took 3 paid of jeans altered them and bleached them. I had so much fun with this project and it was fun getting back to a clothing DIY. I specifically chose mens jeans because they are easy so know how and if they will fit. When you are thrifting you can't alway try the clothes on. So with guys jeans having the waist and inseam it's a great way thrift jeans.

First pair of jeans I used some cotton cording and did a NO SEW alteration. The jeans fit nicely everywhere but the waist which is pretty typical. For the bleaching process I tried the one side bleached look I've seen all over social media.
the second pair of jeans I altered them to turn into denim joggers. I love the way the silhouette totally changed on these jeans. They were super easy to alter. Also this can be done with hand sewing. Then for the bleaching I did some acid wash it didn't totally turn out but I still like them.

Fianlly I did a sewing option with darts. Here is how I created my darts

I started off by measuring 5 inches out from the center back seam. Then once I had that marked I places my ruled on that mark and the bottom point of the pocket. So that my dart would follow the natural curve of the jeans. I drew a line from the waist to 6 inches down. Since I did two darts and had to take the pants in 7 inches. I made each dart at the top 3 1/2 inches wide. So take the measurement and divide by two. On each side of that like I measure just over 1 1/2 inches. Once I had each point I drew a line from that point to the end of the 6 inch line. The you have a triangle, and you match the points up together and sew a straight line.

Depending on how much you have to take in you might not have to adjust pockets.
Finally the last bleaching process I did was ombred legs. I hope you like this video.
