A Night with the Stars 2023 Testimonial: A New Friendship

During the 2023 A Night with the Stars event, several testimonies were shared of seniors and caregivers who were helped through ElderSource.

92-year-old Dolores lives alone but doesn't mean she has to feel lonely. She is a participant in the Caring Connections Telephone Reassurance Program and receives regular, friendly phone calls from volunteer Faye. The two women say they've mutually benefitted from this newfound friendship they've formed over the phone.

The Telephone Reassurance Program is an ElderSource initiative that provides a friendly telephone call from a volunteer to an older adult who is living alone and/or homebound. In 2023, 58 volunteers called 68 clients and spent a total of 808 hours speaking on the phone.
