Season 1 Episode 11: The socio-economic aspects of 'Marital Rape'

In my latest episode, I speak with Dr Nikhil Damodaran and try to break down on the different social and economic aspects behind marital rapes in most of South-Asian countries.

Dr Damodaran is an economist with the Economics Department at the University of Melbourne and his primary job is to teach basic economics to undergraduate students. In his research, Dr Damodaran focusses on macroeconomics of governments i.e. how their spending and financing affects the economy’s GDP.

Dr Damodaran is also interested in looking at governments from a historical perspective i.e. how the evolution of governments and their policies is the result of economic motivations (among others). For eg: most of the governments go for privatization not as a way to switch ownership/operation from public to private, but rather as a way to get quick money and ease budgetary.
