This Yoruba classic song is teaching the young ones the negative effects of disobedience. Sàlímọ́tù is a naughty child and will not listen to her parents. They tell her not to do something and she goes ahead to do it. In this song, Sàlímọ́tù is asked to steer clear of the pool just that she does not fall in and hurt herself, she refused to do so until she fell headlong into the pool of water and is quickly helped out. She could have hurt herself! This is a big lesson to children. Do not be disobedient.
