Cape Buffalo

We met a herd of Cape buffalo as our tour with Harkness Safaris was leaving the Khwai Concession area in northern Botswana. They seemed to be startled by the arrival of our jeep; a few started running, and then the whole herd joined in! It was an impressive sight to see. These are pretty hefty animals - an adult can weigh over 1,000 pounds. And they look quite curmudgeonly - I've included a still photo of one Cape buffalo at the end of this video. As our guide said, "they look at you like you owe them money".
