→ fix your portfolio first. 3 to 5 strong pieces in one niche. logos, ads, thumbnails — pick one and show only that. a confused portfolio loses clients before you even talk to them.
→ go where the clients already are. linkedin, facebook groups, local businesses, upwork. don't wait for them to find you. find them first.
→ reach out like a human, not a template. "hi i'm a designer" gets ignored. "i noticed your ads could convert better — here's a quick redesign i did for free" gets responses.
→ do one free project strategically. not for everyone — for one brand you actually want in your portfolio. turn that into a case study. that case study gets you paid clients.
