By now, I am sure all of you know that Raj Kundra has got judicial custody for 14 days, but do you know what exactly happened inside the court. I promise, you will be shocked to know.

Now, Raj Kundra who was arrested last Monday, has already spent a week in jail as his custody was extended earlier as well and today, while the prosecution asked for an extension of 7 days, the Magistrate at Mumbai's Killa court gave judicial custody of double than that - full 14 days.

But how did the court give 14 days when the prosecution asked only for 7 days?

The answer lies in the strong arguments that were put forth by the public prosecutor to ensure that Raj Kundra doesn't walk out of jail any time soon.

They told the court that the police had discovered an amount of rupees 1 crore 13 lakhs in the Kotak Mahindra bank account belonging to Raj Kundra's company.

They also claimed that Raj Kundra had allegedly received payment of Rs. 1 crores 64 lakhs from Apple and the moneies from Google were yet to be received.

The prosecution even appealed to the victims to come forward and speak up about the act committed against them. They added that so far they have recorded statements from two victims and they were in the process of summoning more.

Raj Kundra has been booked for sale of obscene material transmission of sexually explicit material under the IT act and provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women Act.

Raj Kundra's lawyer Aabad Ponda argued that there was nothing new for which the prosecution was asking for his custody. He once again gave the same shpeel about erotica and porn and said that his client's custody was being sought in offences that were majorly bailable except for two non-bailable offences. Legal experts say that's a lot of cases.

Anyway, Ponda said that if the police had issued summons to Raj Kundra, he would have co-operated. But police has maintained that Raj Kundra isn't cooperating fully with the probe and also had a plan B ready to dodge the investigations, just before his arrest. After hearing both the sides, the magistrate sent Raj Kundra to judicial custody for 14 days.

Now, a lot of you have asked me the exact difference between Police and Judicial custody. So in police custody the accused is in the lockup and the police have full access to him so that they can interrogate him but in judicial custody the accused is shifted to a proper jail where he is under the watch of the jail authorities and not under the investigating officer. And anyway, the cops can get maximum police custody for 14 days only which are most crucial, as the accused is directly under their watch and they have to get maximum evidence out of him, even a confession, to build a watertight case.

Another big development from this case today is that Sherlyn Chopra is fearing an arrest just like Raj Kundra and has gone ahead and filed an anticipatory bail plea in the porn racket. Her plea was also heard today where she said that Raj Kundra was arrested by the police without any notice and she fears that she will also be arrested in the same way. IN her petition she said that she may be implicated in the case and that she has not been given the copy of FIR filed against her. At this point, the prosecution assured the Court that Sherlyn Chopra had been summoned only for recording of statement and not for an arrest.

Now, tomorrow both these cases will come up for hearing. In all probablities Raj Kundra's judicial custody will continue, this is what I feel from whatever I have researched and gathered about the case but we will know for sure only tomorrow. But for tonight, Raj Kundra will be in jail.
