Andrew Sean Greer, "Less"
Andrew Sean Greer discusses his novel, "Less", at Politics and Prose on 6/5/18.
Winner of this year’s Pulitzer Prize for fiction, Greer’s wry and engaging fifth novel, now available in paperback, tells the bittersweet story of Arthur Less. A mid-list novelist facing a midlife crisis, Less turns fifty just as his younger ex-boyfriend is about to get married. To avoid facing the wedding, Less embarks on an extended literary tour. As he travels from San Francisco to New York, Mexico, Italy, Germany, France, India, and Japan, Less looks back over his life. His many flashbacks take him from his early promise as a writer loosely associated with the Russian River School to the books and relationships that have charted his lifelong search for love and meaning. Greer is in conversation with Ron Charles, Washington Post book critic.
