Automatic Eyelid Movement with Eyes (WIP) | Mythical Mythics
Hello! I present another update and it is an eye rig for my retopology journey! I took a while to create this rig.
Originally, I had the eye rig exactly like my original subdivision 3D models, but I couldn't figure out how to utilize the transformation modifier in different spaces (local space, local space with parent, etc...). The eye rig would end up floating away whenever I moved the control headbone. This kinda broken behavior is the software's FAULT (as a failed software engineer uh...I know I'm the stupid one here...I know that saying...BUT, Python didn't fail me for the eye rig drivers I used so HA THAT DEGREE WAS USEFUL).
Anyways, it wasn't until Youtube recommended me @Nukorio's video for face rigs that I was able to accomplish the automatic movement. I copied his eye rig set up and his he utilization of the armature modifier. This solved the issues I was having. What a miracle that Youtube recommended me something useful and not SLOP for once. From there, I added transformation modifiers to the eyelid control bone, allowing me to showcase what I have made so far here.
I do recommend watching the video by @Nukorio linked below. Super helpful information:

If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. I'm not an expert at this, but talking back and forth helps stimulate ideas.
Thank you for reading,

P.S. I didn't showcase the old model because I didn't think it was necessary. If you do want to see it, check out my animation shorts because that has been using the old models.
Another P.S. After I finished writing this description I went and added custom shapes to the eyes and mouth rig (will probably show the mouth rig in the future). Then I added the ears and messed around with shape keys. Unfortunately, I lost all of that progress and I got pissed that I read 2 chapters of "The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity." Specifically, the chapters the anime ended on. I was no longer pissed. I might rewatch the anime after I finish the 2 volumes I have cause yo I don't got that money to buy more volumes. Anyways, this description is nearing 25,000 characters, so I will be ending this paragraph once the 25,000 character is reached.
