Man accepts plea deal for shooting, killing man in April 2020

A man was sentenced to over 16 years in prison for killing a man in northeast Charlotte during a robbery in April 2020.

Joshua Garmon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, common law robbery and robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the killing of Li Y on April 23, 2020. The judge sentenced Garmon to 157 to 201 months for second-degree murder and robbery, as well as up to 25 months for common law robbery. The sentences will run consecutively.
