Remulla: Eric Yap appears to be beneficial owner of contractor behind substandard La Union project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has filed graft and malversation complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman against 20 government officials and two contractors over alleged irregularities in flood control projects in La Union and Davao Occidental. In La Union, 12 DPWH officials and Silverwolves Construction Corporation, the contractor behind the P89.7-million project found to be substandard, were named in the complaint. Meanwhile, in Davao Occidental, eight DPWH officials and St. Timothy Construction Corporation, owned by the Discaya family, were charged over alleged “ghost projects” worth P179.5 million.
