Timelapse Tour Of Utah and Colorado

Bekah and I usually take the Interstate 70 route to Colorado. This time we decided to take I40. We set up a dashboard camera to shoot at 5mp stills at a frame every 2 - 5 seconds, and spliced it this 30fps video.

The initial Utah leg of our journey took us through some beautiful passes. We also drove through the Utah ski resorts of Brighton, Solitude, Deer Valley, Park City and Canyons.

From there we headed across Interstate 40 to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and up to 12,183 ft in elevation along Trailridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. We cross the Continental Divided at Milner Pass, then hit Fall River Pass, Iceberg Pass, Rock Cut and Rainbow Curve.

Heading down to the more moderate 7,522 ft altitude of Estes Park, we set out along the 36 toward Boulder, Colorado and a final destination of Chautauqua Park.

As we ascend Kinnikinick Rd in Chautauqua we happen to run into my brothers skating back uphill after a steep downhill run. Pulling them back up to the family cottage, we end the San Clemente to Boulder leg of our road trip.
