Vail Mud Season - Worth it? | Fishing & Hiking #vail #mud #travelvlog #colorado

Mud Season= Not summer & Not Winter.
We were a little burned out from the Denver commute to the mountains this winter, with most our trips averaging 3 hours sitting in traffic, struggling to find parking. We decided to try a change of pace, and go to Vail for the opening of Mud season. If you don't need all the stores and countless restaurants, then mud season might be for you. I will say the mountains got tons of snow the weekend before and after our trip, so it's a bit of a gamble but it paid off for us. Here is a list of all the pros and cons we noticed.
Pros:
Traffic: 1:30 minutes compared to 3-4 hours
Hotel: $125 compared to 300-600
Parking: Free and plenty of open spots compared to $60.00 and full lots
Crowds: No crowds in Vail

Cons: Not a lot of shops and restaurants open
