Here is a demonstration of two different frame rates that can be shot in Stop Motion animation.

The 1 pence piece travels at 24 frames per second.
The 5 pence piece travels at 12 frames per second.

The two coins travel the same distance, over 1 second (24 frames), but at two separate frame rates.

This is a clear example of them both on a 12-inch ruler.
