Generational Wealth - "The Remix" | Michelle Adams | TEDxCherry Creek Women
Many times, when you hear people talk about generational wealth and legacy it is often in the context of tangible assets such as money and property. My idea worth sharing is that this definition is limiting, and many are led to believe they have nothing of tangible value to leave to their loved ones. To the contrary, generational wealth and legacy should be more inclusive by taking into account our vision, values and voices. These things can be just as valuable if not more so than actual physical wealth.
When we democratize the concept of legacy, all of us flourish because we now see ourselves as worthy and capable of passing along these things to our loved ones. If we flourish as individuals, this in turn creates families who flourish which impacts our communities and so on. Let’s move beyond looking at money as the only thing that deems a person worthy of a legacy. Every person and every family – no matter our income level or celebrity status - has the power and responsibility to create an enduring legacy for future generations! Michelle Adams is a seasoned attorney, speaker, coach and newly titled author. Michelle is passionate about helping people live their lives purposefully with a focus on establishing their personal legacy. This passion is conveyed during her numerous community presentations and further reflected in her first book entitled, “Family Strong – 7 Gifts For A Lasting Legacy”. She is the founder of Hello Legacy, a training and personal development company and the Law Office of Michelle Adams, LLC where she serves families, in the areas of estate planning, elder law, special needs planning and family legacy planning. Michelle volunteers her time with several organizations including the The Denver Foundation, Colorado Legal Services and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As a wife and mother, she is dedicated to championing organizations that support and empower women and children. But most importantly, that strengthen families. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
