What is a Geothermal Park and why do so many people go?

Yilan’s (Datong Township) Qingshui Geothermal park offers a Do It Yourself (DIY) cooking experience using water from the hot spring. From the boiling water comes rising white clouds of vapor. First things first, you pick which items you want. My friends and I choose corn, bamboo shoots, chicken eggs, and peanuts. But honestly, you can cook all sorts of food like shrimp, fish, etc. Afterwards, we placed the food items in several bamboo baskets, and started cooking the food for about 20-30 minutes. Finally, we enjoyed the wonderful feast. At the park there’s also a place to soak your feet in the hot spring and can dress up in a kimono to get the Yukata experience.
