The Problem with Nintendo and #FreeMelee

Nintendo has been accused of corporate greed and after shutting down Bighouse, Splatoon, and Etika themed joycons, the hashtag #FreeMelee has started to appear across the internet. So what is going on here? Is Nintendo really killing every chance at expression its community has or is the Melee community out of line? One thing is for sure... I am ready for 2020 to be over already...
