In this episode, Monti Saroya, Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Flagship Fund for VISTA, highlights two main priorities: reducing the high cost and burden of AI tokens for enterprises and making AI intelligence practical through software. He explains how SambaNova contributes to lowering token costs and introduces NeoCloud VC2, which places inference centers in existing facilities rather than building new energy-intensive campuses. By repurposing older telco-era data centers, NeoCloud avoids requiring new power from the grid and leverages existing buildings and compliance setups. The approach is enabled by SambaNova’s air-cooled chips, which don’t need liquid cooling and therefore use less energy. Monti also notes that while much AI intelligence is now accessible and open-sourced, the next challenge is building software “harnesses” that turn this intelligence into real-world capabilities and help it go mainstream.
