2015 Bee Symposium: Helping Bees Stand on Their Own Six Feet
(Visit: http://seminars.uctv.tv/) Marla Spivak, Distinguished McKnight University Professor, Apiculture and Social Insects, in the Department of Entomology, University of Minnesota delivers the keynote address for the 2015 Bee Symposium. Spivak’s research focuses on protecting the health of all bees, breeding bees for their natural defenses against diseases and parasites, and propagating floral-rich and pesticide-free landscapes to support the nutrition, health and diversity of bee pollinators. She has bred the Minnesota Hygienic honey bee line. These bees are able to defend themselves against diseases and parasitic mites.
