Virtual Reality-based stroke rehabilitation
Gleechi enables people with limited movement to use their hands freely in VR. VirtualGrasp is a predictive software that visualize hand-object interaction in real-time. The software works with any hardware input for VR.
In this demo we use a Leap Motion sensor to track the hand of the patient. The patient starts with opening and closing her hand to determine her range of motion. The VirtualGrasp software is then calibrated based on the movement. When the game starts, notice how a limited finger movement by the real hand results in a full grasp. The software complements the limited movement of the patient and enables a patient to interact freely with her hand in VR, just as if she was fully recovered. The difficulty is continously increased to ensure a healthy rehabilitation process.
