WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS
Your ERP isn't a company brain. It stores data. It doesn't understand it. To an AI, that data is garbage without context — spreadsheets joined to other spreadsheets, with abbreviated column names and company-specific terms. The brain is the layer that bridges data and understanding, the closed-loop system where every problem and every solution gets captured and turned into the next process update, instead of getting forgotten and rediscovered six months later.
I'm building this channel for the people who actually run American manufacturing, and who want to run it for the next 50 years. By watching this video you will get a clear definition of what a company brain actually is, why your ERP isn't one, and where most manufacturers' knowledge lives today: Excel, Teams, email, the ERP, the CRM, SCADA, MES, paper notes on the shop floor, the file server, SharePoint, Trello — and in John's head. John's been here 30 years. When something breaks, everyone interrupts John.
American and Western manufacturing as a whole is suffering from a workforce shortage, which is compounded by the retirement of many of its most experienced operators. The only answer is to get more from every employee by giving them better tools, and automating the work that can be done by robots, or AI. The first step to utilizing AI effectively is having your data in a format that can be queried. That's the purpose of a company brain.
We cover what a brain unlocks once you have one. You can search ten years of orders to answer a customer question in seconds, find out instantly whether you've ever built something similar to a new RFQ, onboard a new estimator in days instead of months, catch errors in a quote before it goes out, build agents that actually work because they finally have something to read.
And we cover the flip most people miss. Startups have the AI advantage in most industries because they have no legacy systems to unwind. For manufacturing, the opposite might be true. Your legacy is the asset. Decades of orders, drawings, customer relationships, every problem your team has ever solved. So you're not starting from zero. You're starting with gold. You just need to make it queryable.
Every manufacturer will have one in five years. Same way every company has a website now. The ones who skip it will be in the same position as a manufacturer in 2026 without a website. They can't compete.

ABOUT ANNORA
Annora is the AI automation layer for manufacturing companies. We capture what your company knows in a queryable company brain, then build agents on top of it that automate knowledge work — quoting, invoice processing, procurement, scheduling, and customer support. Your operators query the brain in plain English. The agents handle the repeatable actions. You own your data and everything we build. We never train on your company data. Private, secure AI.
