MWC Editing Your Book Manuscript

Editing a 300+ page book manuscript is time consuming and laborious. Fortunately for writers there are now great online tools to help you edit your manuscript. ChatGPT and Gemini are really great tools for writers as is https://grammarly.com

Simon and Schuster told me on the phone my Tanker Pilot manuscript was one of the cleanest manuscripts they’d every been sent. Most books take 12-15 months to publish. Mine was published in 9 months because the manuscript didn’t need a lot of changes. Hannah my editor told me they had 61 edits in my 304 page book. Three chapters they wanted me to combine. That’s it. I was told this is an amazing feat for a first time author.

The best editing tool I found in writing my manuscript? Reading the chapter OUT LOUD to yourself or a beta reader like my Dad.

Only use a Beta Reader who will tell you “This chapter needs work…” not someone who will say every time “THIS IS OUTSTANDING!” Fortunately my Dad and several people involved in the events I write about became my Beta Readers and gave me honest opinions of what was on my pages. Those people are worth their weight in gold to writers!

AI like ChatGPT and Gemini are great tools for writers but only if you ask the right prompts.

This VideoClass shows you how one old KC-135 pilot created a manuscript worth publishing in a short time.

A little known fact about me… I CANNOT type and yet my book was published. I dictated the entire book in Google Documents! Don’t think you cannot publish a book because you don’t know how to type. I’m proof you can!

Start writing that movie and editing the manuscript!
