Built between 1929 and 1931 Ringlokschuppen stood after the end of the steam locomotive in the mid-70s empty and decayed. The current owners acquired the engine shed in 2005 from Deutsche Bahn. The restoration and the reconstruction took place according to plans of the architects RKW. The conversion was supported by Lord Mayor Joachim Erwin by the city of Düsseldorf.
