Introducing Focal Glint V1
What if your phone could understand your notifications instead of just showing them?
In this demo, I introduce Focal — an on-device AI notification filtering and summarization tool that turns notification overload into clear, actionable stories.
Most of us receive dozens or even hundreds of notifications every day: WhatsApp messages, payment alerts, delivery updates, missed calls, promotional spam, work messages, and bank SMS alerts. The problem is that every notification gets treated with the same importance, even though only some of them actually matter.
Focal changes that.
It reads notifications locally on your phone, classifies what matters and what is noise, groups related notifications into topics, summarizes what happened, suggests next steps, and even builds live widgets like “Money Today” from your notification stream.
In this video, I walk through:
* How Focal filters important notifications from noise
* How it groups related alerts into meaningful topics
* How notification summaries and suggested actions work
* How “Money Today” tracks transactions from bank SMS alerts
* How users can personalize what matters using a focus statement
* Why on-device AI makes the experience private by design
The core idea is simple: your notifications should not just interrupt you — they should help you understand your day.
Focal runs locally on the device, using an on-device language model, so notification content does not need to leave the phone for classification, grouping, or summarization.
If you are interested in on-device AI, personal productivity tools, mobile intelligence, notification management, privacy-first AI, or building useful AI products, this demo explores one practical direction.
Chapters:
Notification overload
Introducing Focal
Turning notifications into topics
Pulse widgets and Money Today
Personalizing what matters
