Let's Break My Self-Made Cryptographic Challenges From HistoCrypt 2019
#cryptology, #cryptography, #cryptanalysis
In this video, I solve my own self-made cryptography challenges which I created for a workshop on the HistoCrypt 2019 about homophonic substitution ciphers. I forgot nearly everything concerning these challenges, so I cryptanalyze these in this video using CrypTool 2. The HistoCrypt is an anual conference with the main topic classic and historic cryptology. I try to submit a research paper every year. The HistoCrypt 2021 will be in Amsterdam, but due to the Corona virus, it will probably be only an online conference.
If you like to try to break the challenges by yourself, you find the pdf for histocrypt using the link below. So I suggest that you first try to break these and then watch this video. If you don't want to break the challenges, you may just watch the video :-)
You can find information about the next HistoCrypt here: https://www.histocrypt.org
If you are interested in learning the basics of cryptology, you should also have a look at our video series about basics of cryptology – also for beginners: https://youtu.be/jbumW7Ym03o
You may download the latest version of CrypTool 2 from here: https://www.cryptool.org/en/ct2/downloads
Here, you can download the workshop pdf used in the video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zrssgaod1j5w1md/workshop2.pdf
