Explore Talkeetna Alaska Treadmill Walking Tour - 4k City Walks

We have made our way "south" to Talkeetna, Alaska. Talkeetna is a small, quirky little community about a 1/3 of the way between Denali National Park and Anchorage. It sits where the Susitna, Chulitna, and Talkeetna Rivers combine. If the clouds go away, rarity, you can see Denali towering over the other mountains to the north.

Talkeetna Historic District has maintained many of the original 100 year old cabins from the days of yore when miners and trappers came to the area. Now it hosts tourists and mountain climbers, serving as a base for expeditions hoping to summit Denali.

It's a misty, cool, fall morning as I walk through the orange birch trees and show you around the historic downtown area. I hope you enjoy the virtual city tour. Keep on steppin' -H

CORRECTION: I mispoke about the Sustina's Volume. I guess really it is the 15th largest river in the United States, ranked by average discharge volume at its mouth.
