The Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial State Park, located in Yarnell, Arizona, pays tribute to the 19 firefighters that lost their lives fighting wildfires in the Weaver Mountains. In this Ranger Talks episode, local park ranger, Jared Welsh walks us through what makes this Arizona State Park and Trail so special.

Firefighters from around the world come to these sacred grounds to honor the men who gave their lives for the safety of their community. Hike the 2.85-mile Hotshots Trail and visit commemorative plaques posted along the way or trek the full 7-miles beyond the observation deck to visit the Fatality Site.
