The FIFTY - Ep. 18 - Wilson Peak. Skiing the Coors Light Mountain

The most famous mountain in the world that nobody knows happens to be beyond just an icon on a beer can, it happens to be a classic ski descent. Wilson Peak, mostly recognized for being on a Coors Light can, sits outside of Telluride, CO in the San Juan Mountains. At the tail end of a month long run of some of the hardest lines in the continental US, the crew is exhausted and happy for a nice warm day of spring ski touring...the weather had a different idea for the day though. Joined by Telluride local Greg Hope and reunited with Anton Sponar and photographer Weston Shirey, Townsend and Bjarne hope to complete an epic run in Colorado with one last iconic mountain.
This is Episode 18 and line 16 completed for The FIFTY, a project following Cody Townsend as he attempts to climb and ski all fifty of the lines and mountains chronicled in the book, "The 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America." The series documents Townsend's journey's, travels, challenges and each line and mountain listed in the book. It's a journey through the most majestic mountains and ski lines in North America along with a unique insight into how skiers make decisions in the backcountry, how they plan, navigate and safely move through the mountains and the people that dedicate their lives to the mountains.
