Israel BLASTS Hamas' Gaza leader for truce end

Hamas' leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has been blamed for a breakdown in negotiations causing the collapse of a truce in the nearly two-month-old war, according to a spokesman of the Israeli government.

The warring sides blame each other for the collapse of the seven-day truce, during which Israeli hostages were freed in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

Ofir Gendelman, the Israeli government Arabic language spokesman, said on Saturday (December 2) Hamas had refused to release more hostages, naming Sinwar as responsible for the decision, which Israel says led to the resumption of fighting in Gaza.
