French authorities fine-tune security preparations ahead of Olympic flame arrival in Marseille

French police officers and soldiers were putting the finishing touches on their security preparations in Marseille on Tuesday (May 7), a day before the Olympic torch is set to arrive in the city.

Canine squads could be seen checking each boat in the Old Port, as police and divers patrolled the waters.

An estimated 150,000 spectators are expected to attend the ceremony at the port, which will host the Olympic sailing competitions and be the start of a 68-day torch relay across the country.
