President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomes Sir John Chipman, Executive Chairman of International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace on December 12, 2023.

During the meeting, the President expresses his profound gratitude to Mr. Chipman for visiting the Philippines, noting that the meeting is particularly opportune to discuss security issues in the country.

For his part, Mr. Chipman extends an invitation to President Marcos Jr. to attend the upcoming IISS Shangri-La Dialogue, which will be held in Singapore in May 2024.

The IISS Shangri-La Dialogue is Asia's premier defense summit, where ministers debate the region’s most pressing security challenges, engage in important bilateral talks and come up with fresh approaches.
