Jaguar XF - Why Should I Get My Automatic Gearbox Serviced?
In this video JP shares how a garage would perform a full automatic gearbox flush & fluid exchange on a Jaguar XF. He shares the benefits of having your automatic gearbox serviced & shows the difference in gearbox fluid being removed and fresh gearbox fluid that is replacing it.
In this video JP used a ZF Automatic Gearbox Filter & Fluid Change Kit (LR007474ZFKIT) - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR007474ZFKIT
This ZF Kit is suitable for vehicles fitted with 6HP26 or 6HP28 ZF 6 speed auto gearboxes.
This original ZF kit includes 7 Litres of Lifeguard Fluid 6, sump pan & filter, securing screws, sleeve, plug & installation instructions.
Degradation in oil can lead to judder, noise and a deterioration in gear change quality. It is recommended that oils and filters are changed after 50,000 to 75,000 miles on all 6 speed automatic gearboxes to ensure optimum performance.
For this particular video we opted to do a full gearbox fluid flush and exchange to replace as much fluid as possible from the gearbox, oil cooler & torque converter.
You can choose to carry out a standard drain & refill procedure at home by using a manually operated dispenser to assist the refill procedure.
The Oil & Automatic Transmission Fluid Dispenser below can be used to carry out a standard drain & refill as it comes complete with a range of adaptors with quick fix coupling:
