Tsutomu Yamaguchi : The man who survived two nuclear attacks |Japan USA|World war #intrestingfacts

Tsutomu Yamaguchi was a Japanese engineer who holds the remarkable and tragic distinction of being the only officially recognized person to survive both atomic bombings in Japan during World War II. On August 6, 1945, Yamaguchi was in Hiroshima for a business trip when the first atomic bomb was dropped. He was about two miles from ground zero and suffered severe burns, temporary blindness, and injuries to his ear drums. Despite his condition, he managed to find shelter and, the next day, began his journey back to his hometown—Nagasaki.

Incredibly, on August 9, just three days later, while reporting to work to explain what happened in Hiroshima, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. Once again, Yamaguchi survived, this time inside an office building that shielded him from the worst of the blast.

Despite being exposed to such unimaginable trauma and radiation, Yamaguchi lived a long life and died in 2010 at the age of 93. In his later years, he became a vocal advocate for nuclear disarmament, sharing his story to promote peace. His life stands as a powerful reminder of human resilience—and the devastating impact of nuclear warfare.
