Bushfire raging in WA still threatening lives and homes
An out-of-control bushfire is still threatening lives and homes in the Perth and Peel regions.
It’s understood lightening started the fires, and this combined with hot and dry weather conditions and gusty winds caused the fire to spread rapidly.
There were a few emergency warnings yesterday as well as this morning.
An area of particular concern is Serpentine which is a town southeast of Perth.
More than 1,000 hectares have been burnt so far and there is an emergency warning in place, meaning the fire is not contained or controlled.
