I'm growing corn in a small, 4-foot by the 8-foot raised garden bed and you can too! Foodie Gardener, Shirley Bovshow demonstrates how to grow corn in a very small space! As soon as the weather warms up to 75 to 95 degrees on a consistent basis, it's time to plant corn. Select a sunny spot that receives sun all day long because the corn needs it.

Because corn is a very hungry and thirsty plant, it needs nutrient-rich soil. I'm filling my raised garden bed with a special soil blend made for raised gardens. It offers great texture, and moisture retention, plus organic nutrients to feed the corn. Corn is a part of the grass family.

Spacing corn correctly is crucial to growing corn in a small space because it affects the success of pollination.
