Johann Baptist Cramer - Piano Concerto No.7 in E-major, Op.56 (1816)

Picture: Henry Nelson O'Neil - Happy Days of Titian

Johann Baptist Cramer (24 February 1771 -- 16 April 1858) was an English musician of German origin.

Work: Piano Concerto No.7 in E-major, Op.56 (1816)

Mov.I: Allegro con spirito 00:00
Mov.II: Larghetto 14:13
Mov.III: Rondo: Vivo 18:52

Pianist / Conductor: Howard Shelley

Orchestra: London Mozart Players

The Concerto No. 7 in E major, Op. 56 (published in 1816) was composed
after Beethoven's final concerto.

It is still recognisably in the classical mould, but, like Hummel in his mature concertos from this time, Cramer substitutes a written-out cadenza for the traditional improvised one in the first movement.
