One of the things that gun owners, especially those that conceal carry, don't get enough credit for is the fact that their gun is not just a tool to protect them and the people they love, but it's also a tool to protect the people who can't protect themselves as was the case here.

Two concealed carriers acted quickly when they spotted an inebriated man break into a residence in St. Charles, Michigan, according to the police, protecting a woman and her two children.

The concealed carriers went inside the house and subdued the suspect until deputies from the sheriff's office arrived.

Nope, the anti-gun side never talks about these types of stories.

Oh, they'll scream from the mountaintops about how guns are dangerous because they're used against women, but when strangers use their guns to protect a woman and her child... crickets.

Yet here we have two people with concealed carry licenses who not only used their guns to protect someone else; they did it without shooting anyone.

The funny thing is, the anti-gun lobby won't count this as a defensive gun use.

Think about how often stuff like this happens but doesn't get reported.

Think about all the times a citizen pulls a gun on a criminal to thwart an attack, and the criminal runs away, and the citizen doesn't bother calling the cops.

That's why the idea that only 70,000 people each year use a gun to defend themselves is BS; the number has to be much higher but even still, way more people use their guns in self-defense than people murdered by a gun.
