In this video we will see how to make adhirasam recipe in Tamil.Adhirasam / Athirasam is a traditional sweet recipe distributed to friends during the festival of diwali. One major problem beginners face when making this adhirasam is that it often disintegrates in oil. In order to get perfect adhirasam we have to choose the right rice type and the correct consistency of the batter. The next step is the temperature of the oil. Once you get these conditions right you will realize that making adhirasam is not that difficult. Nowadays we can get this sweet at shops but it is often stale and nothing can come close to the taste of fresh homemade adhirasam.

Adhirasam is a traditional South Indian sweet prepared during Diwali, marriage and other functions. It is given as a seer bakshanam along with the bride when she leaves to her in-laws place after marriage. Properly prepared adhirasam has a very good shelf life and doesn't need refrigeration at all.

Made with raw rice, jaggery and ghee it is a wonderful travel food. It is rice in iron and is a healthy sweet. No sweet preparation is complete without adhirasam in tamilian homes for Diwali or marriage.

Adhirasam is like cake in preparation. If the quantity is correct and the method is followed properly you 'll get good adhirasam. Otherwise it tends to seperate in oil.
