Volumetric mass transfer coefficient (KLa)

Volumetric mass transfer means transfer of oxygen from gaseous phase to the liquid phase. The volumetric mass transfer coefficient is indicated by the term Kla. The oxygen transfer rate (OTR) in bioreactor depends on Kla and concentration of oxygen in the liquid. This video gives visual description of the term Kla and (Oxygen transfer rate) OTR.
