Manual Suction

A hand held (manual) suction unit is an inexpensive option for emergency aspiration. Some have disposable canisters, others may require cleaning. There are also completely disposable units as in the 3rd example.
They are particularly useful as a "just in case" in areas that rarely require their use.
However can be very effective when the need arises.

The main principle of use is squeeze fast and steady.
It is better to hold the tube with one hand to steady it (in the video this was not feasible due to holding the cup for demonstration).

Suction units should be checked regularly according to local protocol.
